Frequently Asked Questions
1. How long do I need to stay in Antalya?
10 days for primary surgeries and 12 days for revision surgeries.
2. How long does the surgery take?
For the primary surgeries, on average it takes 2 to 3 hours. For the revision surgeries, it takes 3 to 4 hours. However, the surgery length can vary from case to case.
3. How long do I stay at the hospital?
You will stay at the hospital for one night. Revision patients may stay up to two nights if we take cartilage from their ribs.
4. Do you do simulations?
After doing the consultation and taking photos of your nose, the doctor creates a photo simulation of your desired nose based on your request. This simulation helps the patient to visualize the desired nose, however this doesn’t mean a complete commitment to it. The doctor will do his best to reach the targeted nose with the best result, however since the circumstances during the surgery are sometimes not predictable, there may not be a 100% guarantee in terms of the end result. Also these simulations are two-dimensional and they can be created only for profile pictures.
5. Will there be any bruising, swelling or scars?
There may be some bruising and swelling depending on the skin types of the patients. However, this will go away in 4-6 days. Since we do closed rhinoplasty, there won’t be any scars except nostrils reduction operation.
6. Will there be any pain after the surgery?
There may be very minimum or no pain but we will provide you pain killers anyway. Most of our patients don’t need to take the painkillers after three or four days. For patients with low pain tolerance we provide narcotic painkillers.
7. When do you remove the silicon tubes and the plaster?
We remove the silicon tubes and the plaster on the 6th day after the surgery.
8. How long will it take for me to go back to my normal life?

9. When can I start exercising after the surgery?
You can start exercising a month after the surgery.
10. When can I start wearing glasses?
You can start wearing glasses 3 months after the surgery.
11. When will I see the best results of my surgery?
The recovery process varies based on the skin type of the patients. In general though, 70% of recovery is completed in two months, 80% of it is completed in six months and within the first year a complete recovery is expected. However, this recovery time may increase for patients with thick skins and decrease for patients with thinner skins. The genetic structure of the patient, chronic diseases, age, alcohol and cigarette intake and eating habits can effect the recovery length.
12. Can the asymmetry in the nose be fixed completely?
The asymmetries caused by traumas or previous rhinoplasty surgeries can be fixed completely. However, innate asymmetries on your face and your nose may only be fixed 90%. Actually, 80% of the human beings have some type of asymmetry.
